The Last Week of July,

The teenagers are back from camp. The middleschooler is feeling his oats, so to speak. The grammarschool boy is showing the lights of curiosity blooming in his eyes. The world is so big and my family dynamic is so constantly in flux. It is so difficult to document the beauty of the light in the eye of each age and then when the light starts to dim at the end of teen years and they seem to say, is that all there is of childhood? No, son, that is not all there is of childhoos. Childhood is just the beginning of the growth process. There is so much good that we can grow into, if we look into things with the curiosity of a child. The more we are exposed to children the more preserved we are from the cynicism of aging. Teach us to number our days Lord? and teach us to become as a child, that we would grow in our love and faith and joy.
