Dancing with Wilbur
It is no secret that I love the writings of EB White. I just adore Wilbur and Charlotte and the fictional world of the Arable family.
Yesterday, Emily and I were stuck in traffic and I recalled a day of race traffic that I was coming home from work. This song came on the radio in the midst of my upsetment at the crowd that I was stuck with on the highway.
I saw Wilbur dancing out of the beauty of Garth Williams' illustrations. I saw the dance of the free Wilbur breaking out of the pen. I was delighted in a moment and dancing with Wilbur in my car. I am sure that my compatriots on the road thought that I had "wigged out". And maybe I did, but Wilbur and I enjoyed the boogie. And before I knew it the traffic jam had dissipated.
