How can I nurse my cough with dishes in the sink and my floor unmopped and my carpets as they are? I found a way to rest and wash only what was necessary, today. It is Mother's Day. I couldn't help putting the potatoes in the oven or blogging to my babies on such a day. I sent my mother her gift, at the last minute, I think.
God is good and I am very grateful for the 9 pregnancies the loss and the gain of motherhood that has garnered me 6 wonderful live children and three in heaven to see, when I get there. I am grateful for the 6 delightful toddlers that fill my days with Mother Goose and craziness that dig up from me every bit of energy that is left to give. They have a way of pulling it out of you, even when you think you haven't another drop of mental, emotional or physical energy.Motherhood has been very, very good to me, to quote a humorous anecdote of an earlier generation. I am grateful for its' fond memories and its' promise of continued blessing, in the grace of God.
Happy, Happy Mothers' Day to all mothers. I hope that you are blessed in the celebrating of it.
